Terms and Conditions


Customers will be asked to read and sign a copy of these terms and conditions prior to acceptance and commencement of all bookings.

1. BOOKING

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting Service will provide a time interval during which visits will occur. If any unforeseen situation(s) arise, the time interval may be adjusted. In the unlikely event that this should happen we will of course make every effort to inform you.
  • An in-home ‘meet and greet’ consultation is required, prior to reservations, FOR ALL NEW CUSTOMERS. 
  • Existing customers will need to clarify changes regarding contact numbers, pet’s care needs, emergency contact details and other pertinent information.

2. PAYMENT

  • A 25% non-refundable deposit is payable on booking.
  • Full payment is required 14 days prior to the start of the booking period. Exceptions may be made for last minute bookings by negotiation.
  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting accepts cash and/or bank transfer – account details are provided at time of booking.
  • Where payment is not received in accordance with these terms and conditions of business, we reserve the right not to proceed with any previously agreed arrangements and a cancellation fee will be payable as outlined below.

3. CANCELLATIONS

  • Cancellations within 7 days of the booking period will incur a 50% payment for services.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the booking period will be deemed payable in full.
  • If Purr Pots Pet Sitting Service cannot provide the service agreed, we will do our best to arrange an alternative. In extreme circumstances, and if an alternative cannot be secured, we will endeavour to give you 48 hours’ notice of cancellation and a full refund including any previously declared non-refundable deposit.

4. UNFORESEEN PURCHASES

  • In the event that additional items need to be purchased in the absence of the customer – i.e. pet food, litter, cleaning supplies or other necessary items that contribute to the health and well-being of your pet, the pet service provider will purchase these, retain a receipt and the pet owner is responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return.

5. KEYS

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting Service will obtain a key during the in-home ‘meet and greet’ consultation. All necessary security / alarm information will be collected and noted at this time. Key(s) and security information will be held by the pet sitter, coded for security and kept in a secure location.
  • It is recommended that your key remains in Purr Pots Pet Sitting Service’s custody for convenience and future use of our service. It will of course be returned to you at the end of the booking should you require.

6. INSURANCE / CRIMINAL DISCLOSURE

  • All Purr Pots Pet Sitters have a current Enhanced DBS Certificate. We are happy to show these to you at the time of booking.
  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting Service has valid public liability insurance, for its customers’ peace of mind. We are happy to show this to you at the time of booking.
  • The insurance only covers Purr Pots Pet Sitting Service for the duration of the selected service, and only for services agreed.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that their property, its contents and pets are adequately insured throughout the duration of the booking period.

7. ADDITIONAL PET CARE ASSISTANCE AND OTHER SCHEDULED SERVICES

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting does not accept liability for other persons who will be in your home prior to, during or immediately after our services have been rendered.
  • Please inform us at the time of booking about anyone who may have access to your home while you are away. This includes cleaning services, maintenance personnel, friends, family and neighbours.
  • It is understood that the customer will notify anyone with access to the home that the services of Purr Pots Pet Sitting have been engaged.

8.  INCLEMENT WEATHER

  • You will entrust Purr Pots Pet Sitting to use best judgment in caring for your pet(s) and home at the time of inclement weather. Purr Pots Pet Sitting will try to carry out your instructions to the best of their ability. However, in cases of extreme weather, we will contact you with alternative arrangements.

9. MEDICATION

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting will follow instructions to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.
  • Under no circumstances will Purr Pots Pet Sitting service any pet that has any form of active contagious illness.

10. PET WASTE

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting will properly dispose of waste. For cat litter trays we request that you provide all necessary items such as scooper, cat litter and plastic bags and indicate where you would like these waste bags placed for disposal.  The same for any other home-based animal.

11. ESCAPE / LOSS / INJURY

  • For safety and security, we advise customers to keep their cats locked indoors for the full duration of the booking period.
  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting will not accept any responsibility or liability for any animals that escape, become lost or injured, fatally or otherwise, when instructed to leave the animals in a property that contains an unlocked cat flap or with other forms of access to the outside e.g. access into an external fenced area / cat patio.

12. HOUSE CLEANLINESS

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting will clean up after your pets to the best of their ability. Please inform us of the designated area for the appropriate cleaning supplies.
  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting is not responsible for carpet/ flooring stains created by your pet(s).
  • We request that you provide plastic bags, towels, cleaning products, paper towels and bin bags.
  • If there are accidents above and beyond the normal amount anticipated, we will charge a reasonable fee for clean-up time.

13. HOUSEHOLD EMERGENCIES

  • Details of utilities shut off points for services into the property are to be provided on the Home Information Sheet.
  • In the event of a household emergency, your emergency contact will be contacted to arrange any action / remedial work.

14. OTHER VISITORS

  • A sitter may attend your property with a fully vetted companion at no additional cost to the customer.  This may happen if personal safety is thought to be an issue.
  • This will be agreed with the customer at the time of booking and the companion’s Enhanced DBS Certificate will be produced for your inspection.

15. CHANGES TO RETURN DATE

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting carefully schedules time to serve you and other customers, therefore, there are no refunds or credits for early returns.
  • If your return is delayed, you must inform Purr Pots Pet Sitting immediately. We will use our best endeavours to make alternative arrangements for continued cover and this will incur a further charge.

16. LIABILITY

  • Purr Pots Pet Sitting shall not be liable to the customer or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing or failure to perform any of its obligations in relation to the services if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond Purr Pots Pet Sitting’s reasonable control.

17. PRIVACY POLICY

  • All information will be kept strictly private and confidential.  All records will be stored in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
